I’m always looking for something new and/or improved the will keep us aging women looking marvelous!

Anastasia Lip Color in St. Tropez   LOVE IT!!

I recently received this with my last order from  I actually selected it with 100 of points from Sephora’s loyalty program .  Not expecting anything special, I threw this in my purse as a backup lipgloss, as I was leaving home for a weekend getaway.

I was pleasantly surprised!   The color is wonderful!  It’s a gorgeous iridescent rose gold gloss.  High shine.  Very glossy.  Smells like sugar cookies.

There are around 50 shades of this brand and type of gloss.  I have yet to try any others. I tend to love things with a gold sparkle. This satisfied my interests. But be sure to check out the other colors as well.

The applicator is one of those newer flat  sponge-tips and requires a little bit of concentration for a good lip pout.  If you rush, the lines won’t be straight and you’ll like like you missed the mirror.

It’s not tacky or sticky.  Makes your lips feel soft and look beautiful.  I loved this look on my lips.  I have yet to try this over another lipstick but hope to soon.

My only disappointment with this is that it didn’t last very long and as soon as I ate or drank anything I needed another swipe of gloss.  I normally prefer glosses that are more long-lasting but for the great color and feel, I’m willing to buy a larger tube next time and keep reapplying.  It’s only $16.

bye bye lines

Described as an “Advanced Anti-Aging Wrinkle Smoothing Miracle Concentrate” serum.

I have been using it for around 3 weeks now and have to say that I really like what it does for the fine lines and wrinkles on my face, in particular around my eyes and mouth.  it feels light and refreshing and appears to “work” immediately.  I follow it with iT’s “Secret Sauce” moisturizer.

I have only recently discovered the iT brand at Ulta, where I tested a contour stick and fell in love with it and subsequently went back and purchased this.

I received a sample of this wonderful moisturizer with an order from Sephora, I think and immediately fell in love with it.

It is described as a “Clinically Advanced Miraculous Anti-Aging Moisturizer”.

I had been using Estee Lauder’s Revitalizing Supreme + Global Anti-Aging Cell Power Creme, for a few years.   I was happy with it until I tried this Secret Sauce.  They are both on the pricey side, but the Secret Sauce feels light and cooling on my skin and although it could be that I want to see positive change, so I do, I really think this is really reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles more than the Estee Lauder moisturizer.   For now, this is a winner and I’ll stick with it.

glisten up Chubby highlighter
by flower cosmetics

This is one of my favorite little makeup enhancers.   It is a sheer illuminating highlighter that I use on my cheekbones, browbone, bridge of my nose, cupids bow above my top lip and just below the center of my bottom lip.   It gives my face a wonderful long lasting glow, makes me look refreshed, awake and enlightened.  I use one called “pearl shimmer” #HL1.  I purchased it at Walmart and have been using the same stick for at least 6 months and there’s still plenty left on the stick.

You can find this at Walmart, for around $11.00 or order it directly from

If you’re like me, you have little pots of eye shadow, bronzer and blush all over your makeup table or in a drawer or in multiple drawers.

I came across these creative palette organizers on   It’s a double sided magnetic case with a clear magnetic flip lid, so you can see what’s inside.

The palette comes with instructions as well as a little tool to use to pry your make up from the pots it came in, and little magnetic pieces to with a peel off adhesive that will allow you to attach it to your plastic or non-metal pots of makeup. Once you remove the eyeshadow, blush, bronzer or whatever, from it’s original packaging, you simply stick it in this little organizer pallet.  I started with one. I have eye shadows on one side and blush, bronzer and highlighters on the other  I recently purchased a second because I’m determined to put all my powdered makeup in these cases, in the interest of saving space.

It measures 8″ x 5″ x 1″. Right now they are on sale on for $22.50 each, reduced from the original price of $45.00.
